Jess Larsen is the Founder & CEO of Briarcliffe Credit Partners.
As private markets have grown beyond $10 trillion and become more competitive than ever with more than 1,700 placement agents, Jess saw the need for a specialized approach to placement services. Within a year of launching Briarcliffe, he has built a 13-person team, creating a firm widely recognized as the leading private credit placement agency.
Prior to founding Briarcliffe, Jess was a Partner and CEO Americas at global placement agency First Avenue Partners where he rebuilt the US business to become a leading firm, notably ranking number one in private credit and number three in Infrastructure.
Previously, as Global Head of Institutional Sales & Marketing at Highland Capital Management in Dallas, Texas, Jess successfully relaunched its institutional business, rebuilding product offerings and developing a team to become the firm’s most profitable business unit per dollar managed.
Earlier, Jess joined Merrill Lynch in London to establish and lead the European Family Group, a unit providing investment banking services to Europe’s largest families.
Jess’s insights are sought throughout the market, and he speaks frequently on industry trends. He has been featured in Bloomberg, Private Debt Investor, Preqin, LevFin Insights, Refinitiv, PitchBook, on industry podcasts, and on Nasdaq’s TV series Top Quartile. Additionally, Jess has led and spoken on multiple panels, including at SuperReturn, PDI Forum, LPGP Connect, and many other platforms.
Education & Community
Jess serves as a director on the board of Royal Albert Hall America, an American affinity group of the London center for arts and sciences. While living in Dallas, he served on the board of the World Affairs Council. Jess studied in Cambridge, Antwerp, and holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Copenhagen Business School.
